Unleashing The Power of NAS Download Manager Chrome Extension

In our digital age, the need for efficient and reliable tools for managing and downloading online content has never been higher. One such tool that has gained significant popularity is the NAS Download Manager , a Chrome extension that turns your browsing experience into an efficient downloading operation. Despite its average rating of 3.08, this Chrome extension boasts an impressive array of features that sets it apart from other download manager tools.

What is the NAS Download Manager Chrome Extension?

NAS Download Manager is a Chrome extension that allows users to add and manage their download tasks on their Synology DiskStation NAS directly from their browsers. This powerful tool requires a Synology NAS with DSM version 4 or higher and provides users with a host of features that streamline and enhance their downloading experience. Moreover, it is relevant to note that NAS Download Manager, albeit highly effective, is not an official Synology offering.

Dazzling Features of NAS Download Manager

The NAS Download Manager Chrome extension comes packed with a multitude of features that provide a comprehensive solution for managing your download tasks. Online media and files, including .torrent types, can be downloaded effortlessly with a simple right-click. Users can clear all completed tasks with one click, choose the destination folder for new download tasks, and view, filter, and sort all their current download tasks in the extension popup. The extension also allows users to add, pause, resume, and remove download tasks directly from the extension popup. Additionally, system notifications for completed download tasks and the ability to open certain types of links, including magnet links, in the extension rather than a desktop application add to the convenience and efficiency of this tool. Users can even add multiple downloads simultaneously, making it a truly comprehensive download manager tool.

User Reviews: Why the Mixed Reception?

Despite its robust features and utility, the NAS Download Manager Chrome extension has received a mix of positive and negative feedback from users. Some users have mentioned issues with the HTTPS certificate requirement and connection errors, while others have found workarounds and praised the extension for its functionality and flexibility. As with any tool, the NAS Download Manager Chrome extension has its strengths and weaknesses. But for those looking for a comprehensive download management tool for their Synology NAS, this extension might be worth a shot.

Final Thoughts

To sum up, the NAS Download Manager Chrome extension brings a lot to the table in terms of functionality and convenience for managing downloads on a Synology NAS. Though it has its drawbacks and may require some troubleshooting, the range of features it offers makes it a worthwhile consideration for those seeking to enhance their downloading experience.

While two-factor authentication is not available at this time, the extension will still perform as described without it.

Works excellent as long as you don't use 2-factor authentication. These days 2FA is a must especially on NAS. Extension does not work 2FA which is a major setback and I had to stop using using. Any plans to make it 2FA-compatible, please? Would be amazing! :)

Works fine if you don't use 2FA. Would be nice if 2FA would be supported; extension useless since I'm using 2FA

works perfect behind a cloudflare tunnel

Used to work great, now getting 'SID not found' error :(

Can't get it to work Added a new user. changed the https redirect still won't work. Keeps saying 2FA Authentication. On an account with or without 2FA Enabled. Trash.

This is one of the best extensions for transferring download tasks and files to your DiskStation but recently had to switch extensions due to 2fa. It has always had a couple issues that are frustrating. The first is the connection problems with non https that prevents proper login. Its a simple work around, but can be frustrating for someone who limits their tracking/history/cookies and is required to repeat the https login workaround frequently. The other big issue is a lack of 2fa compatibility. If it is enabled, you cant use this extension. Once those 2 things are addressed, I will love back and update to 5 stars! If neither of those issues affect you, then this extension is great.
